IDAK Membership Requirements: What to Prepare Before Applying

Prepare for an IDAK application with the right category, contact details, profile information, and supporting proof for the membership plan you select.

A smooth membership application starts with the right category and complete, readable information. IDAK's requirements can differ by membership plan, so use this checklist to prepare, then confirm the exact evidence and fees on the current Membership page and in your account.

Have your basic details ready

Use a current email address and phone number that you can access. Be ready to provide your location, a short professional biography, and details that explain your current role. If you are applying for a business, keep the business name and registration details consistent across the application.

Prepare evidence for your category

The supporting information depends on the plan selected. For example, a student may be asked for proof of current enrolment; a graduate may need qualification or graduation evidence; a practising professional may need qualification or practice information; and a company may need business registration evidence. Non-citizen applicants should check the specific identity or professional documents requested. These examples are preparation prompts, not a substitute for the live application instructions.

Make sure scans or photographs are legible, complete, and not expired where an expiry date applies. Use the applicant's own documents, and do not upload a document that belongs to someone else without authority.

Complete your profile before payment

The IDAK account process asks applicants to complete profile information and any required proof as part of onboarding. Write a concise biography, state your practice focus clearly, and check your contact details. The profile is part of how the association reviews and administers membership, so avoid exaggerated titles or unsupported claims.

Before you submit

  • Confirm that the category matches you or your organization.
  • Check the current joining fee and renewal fee on IDAK's live page.
  • Review every field for spelling and consistency.
  • Keep copies of the submitted files and payment confirmation.
  • Watch your account and email for review requests or status updates.

Give files clear names such as “Applicant Name - Enrolment Proof” or “Studio Name - Registration”. Check that the whole page is visible and that text can be read on a phone screen. If a document is in a format the form does not accept, contact IDAK for guidance instead of sending it through an unofficial channel.

Use the same spelling of your name or business name across the form, evidence, and payment record. Where your legal name differs from your professional name, explain the relationship in the relevant field or ask the secretariat how to record it.

What the checklist cannot decide

Preparing evidence does not guarantee approval. The association reviews the application against the current rules for the selected category. Keep your contact information active so you can respond if IDAK asks for a clearer scan, a missing detail, or a correction.

For the full sequence, follow the IDAK joining guide. For category descriptions, see IDAK membership categories explained. If a requirement is unclear, contact IDAK before paying so you can submit the correct information the first time.
