Where Can You Find Verified Interior Designers in Kenya?

Find places to check interior designer profiles in Kenya and learn what membership verification, portfolios and references can—and cannot—tell you.

If you need to find a verified interior designer in Kenya, check what the directory has verified and what you still need to verify yourself.

1. IDAK designer directory

IDAK describes public profiles as verified, but its public directory showed one profile on 7 November 2026. Ask the association what documents it checks and when it last confirmed the listing. Its advocacy page lists a national register and licensing standards among goals it is working toward; an association profile is not a government licence or a guarantee of project quality.

Ask a designer for the qualification, project experience and references relevant to your brief, then agree a written scope. Use IDAK membership information to understand the association’s current categories and confirm status directly.

2. KENCID for education and qualifications

Kenya College of Interior Design offers interior design education. If a professional claims a qualification from KENCID, ask the college how that claim can be checked, with the graduate’s consent. KENCID is an education provider; it is not presented here as an IDAK designer directory.

3. Other professional bodies and references

The Architectural Association of Kenya has an Interior Designers Chapter and provides an AAK membership certificate verification tool. The Association of Designers of Kenya lists an Interior Design Chapter within its wider design-profession network. Ask each organization what a current membership category means before relying on it.

Check the project fit yourself

Ask what the designer personally did on similar projects, request references where available, and compare a written scope, fee and payment schedule. Where a project needs regulated or specialist work, establish which appropriately qualified professionals will handle it.

Next step: Browse IDAK profiles and prepare a short project brief.
