Luxury Interior Designers in Nairobi: How to Evaluate the Details

Compare luxury interior designers in Nairobi by design process, custom work, sourcing, documentation and long-term service—not price alone.

When you compare luxury interior designers in Nairobi, look for detail in the drawings, procurement and site work as well as in the finished photographs.

Look for the work behind the image

Ask to see projects with a similar level of customisation and understand the designer’s responsibility on each. Discuss how a concept becomes drawings, samples and orders. A finished photograph may be inspiring, but details such as door clearances, lighting controls and joinery construction reveal how the space works.

Discuss sourcing and custom work

If you want bespoke furniture, art or imported products, ask how suppliers are selected, what alternatives are proposed and who approves samples. Clarify lead times, shipping, duties where applicable, installation and the process for damaged or unavailable items. Obtain a written breakdown rather than assuming these costs are included.

Establish the service level

Ask who leads the project, how many site visits and revisions are included, and who coordinates other professionals. For custom or imported items, check sourcing, shipping, installation, snagging and alternatives for unavailable products. With the client’s permission, review a comparable project’s approved layout, joinery detail, sample record and handover. A higher fee does not guarantee quality; use the written scope to see what it buys.

Ask when you will approve samples and purchase orders, how foreign-currency changes or delivery delays are handled, and who pays for damaged goods or replacement parts. Keep those terms beside the design fee in the agreement.
