To estimate the cost of studying interior design in Kenya, multiply the published term tuition by the number of terms, then add every charge the headline fee leaves out.
1. Ask for all institutional charges
Request tuition and any registration, examination, assessment or other compulsory fees. Confirm whether the quoted amount is per term, semester, year or whole programme, and whether fees are expected to change. Ask about payment schedules and refund terms.
2. Budget for learning materials
Ask what drawing equipment, model-making supplies, printing, books and software are required, and whether the institution supplies any of them. If a computer is needed, request practical specifications before buying one.
3. Include living and travel costs
Consider transport, accommodation, internet access and the time needed for studio work or placement. Ask where practical learning takes place and whether it creates additional travel or equipment costs.
4. Compare options on the same basis
As listed on 7 November 2026, NIBS priced Interior Design Level 5 at KSh 24,750 per term for six terms, or KSh 148,500 in listed tuition. Its Level 6 page listed KSh 26,750 per term for eight terms, or KSh 214,000. The Level 6 page calls the award a certificate; ask NIBS to confirm the exact award and progression before applying. These totals exclude any fees the college does not include in tuition.
5. Confirm with reliable sources
Review KENCID’s interior design programmes and request the current complete fee structure from its admissions team. IDAK can provide professional development and membership context; it is not the source of another institution’s tuition quote.
