Embarking on a three-day journey from November 23rd to 25th, the Africa Interior Design Week 2023 unfolded at the prestigious Sarit Centre in the Cherangany Room, setting the stage for a remarkable exploration of innovation and inspiration within the realms of interior design and construction management.
At the heart of this event were distinguished speakers whose voices resonated with authority and experience. George Washington, Founding President of the Interior Designers Association of Kenya and Africa Interior Design Week, graced the stage alongside Titi Ogufere, Past President of the International Federation for Interior Architects/Designers, and the Founding President of the Interior Designers Association of Nigeria. Their insights illuminated the landscape, offering a glimpse into the intricate world of design spanning across borders.
Hailing from different corners of the globe, Emrah Kaymak, President of the International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers, shared perspectives from Turkey, while Claire Le Quellec, President of the European Council for Interior Architects and the French Council for Interior Architects (FCIA), brought a touch of French elegance. Charrisse Johnston, President of the African Institute of Interior Design Professions, represented the vibrancy of South Africa, adding a unique perspective to the discourse.
The academic realm was represented by Prof. Mugendi M’Rithaa, the Vice Chancellor of Machakos University in Kenya. Meanwhile, Khalil Fourati, Founding Member/President of CRAI SFAX, offered insights from Tunisia. The line-up concluded with Christine Songole, Chief Designer at the Public Works Department in Kenya, bringing practical knowledge from the field.
